JL Audio XDM Amplifiers are extremely versatile and powerful in a space conscious form factor. They contain many useful JL Audio features and technologies such Advanced Rollback Protection, NexD™ Switching Technology, and Differential Balanced Inputs. In addition to those features, the JL Audio XDM amplifiers have a special input filter switch that can help to reduce unwanted noise in certain applications.
In some vehicles or vessels, there may be devices present, that when powering on and off, may create radio-frequency noise. While these noises are usually not problematic, when working with audio amplifiers, these noises can sometimes find a way into the amplifier’s audio input and cause ‘whines’ or ‘pops’. In these applications, changing the switch position from ‘car’ to ‘boat’ will engage RF filtering that may help to reduce unwanted noises. If any noises are present, simply adjust the switch to the position that works best for the application.
JL Audio VXi and MVi amplifiers also have the RF Input Filtering capability that can be accessed via TüN® Software. It is located on the Setup Tab in the Input Drawer where the Input Sensitivity and input turn on features reside. The filter is labeled ‘Analog Input CM LPF’ and can be engaged by selecting the checkbox.
