VXi amplifiers and TüN™ software running on a Windows PC are designed for ease of use and simple communication interfacing via USB. With the VXi amplifier powered on, simply use a USB A-to-B male-to-male cable to connect the VXi amplifier's USB port to an open USB port on your Windows PC. Next, launch TüN™ software and select your VXi amplifier when prompted by TüN™ software. If you are using a VXi-HUB, connect your USB cable to the Master amplifier and you will see the master amp listed with a drop down arrow in TüN™, clicking that arrow will show any other amps on the network. You are now connected and ready to configure your VXi amplifier.
In some rare cases, connection between a VXi amplifier and Windows PC could be limited, or non-functional. This article details items to check with the VXi amplifier, USB cable, and Windows PC to correct a non-connection issue.
- First, is the amplifier powered on? Look for the LED illumination around the JL Audio logo badge on top of the amplifier. If the badge is not illuminated, review the power inputs into the amplifier and correct the power input issue. Is the issue now corrected? If so, connect the VXi to the PC and launch TüN™. If not, move to the next step.
- If power inputs are verified as appropriate into the VXi, and the amplifier will not power on, try rebooting the amplifier. To reboot the VXi amplifier, open the rubber flap labeled "SD + Reset" on the side of the VXi amplifier, then press and release the right recessed button under the rubber flap with a pointed object. Is the amplifier now powered on (JL Audio logo badge illuminated)? If so, connect to the WIndows PC and launch TüN™ software.
- If communication between the VXi amplifier and TüN™ software is still not established, perform a factory reset on the amplifier by pressing and holding the left recessed button under the "SD + Reset" rubber flap for seven seconds, then release. The JL Audio logo badge illumination will turn off and the amplifier will reboot, fully factory restored. The JL Audio logo badge will illuminate upon turn on. Connect the VXi amplifier to the Windows PC and launch TüN™ software.

To perform a full factory reset on the VXi amplifier, press and hold the left button under the rubber flap for seven seconds, then release:
- If the amplifier is powered on, however, TüN™ software does not recognize the connection to the Windows PC, try using an alternate USB cable and/or USB port on the computer to connect. If communication between the VXi amplifier and TüN™ software is still not established, uninstall TüN™, download the TüN™ installation package from HERE, and reinstall TüN™ on the Windows PC. After performing a new software installation, try connecting the VXi amplifier to the Windows PC and launch TüN™ software.
