MediaMaster® MM105 / O-MM105-HR Software Update/Installation Process

MediaMaster® MM105 / O-MM105-HR OS Update

This update includes:

  • General improvements and fixes
  • Added Multi-Language Functionality to UI

*Note: JL Audio recommends a 16GB or smaller USB thumb drive for this update.


Follow these steps to view which software version is currently loaded in your source unit:

  1. With the source unit turned ON, press and hold SETTINGS to access the System Settings: Main Menu.
  2. Select Diagnostic.
  3. The software version currently in use will be displayed after SW ver:


Follow the steps below to download and install (or reinstall) the latest operating software:

  1. Download Update (ver: 1.0.1440)

  2. Extract the files and review the included PDF license agreement (MM_OS_EULA.pdf).
  3. Save the bin file (MM105_1_0_1440.bin) to a USB thumb drive. 
    (Thumb drive should be empty and formatted to FAT32.)
    Note, this file should be saved to the root directory (top level) of the thumb drive (not placed in a folder).

  4. Connect the USB thumb drive to USB1 or USB2 of the source unit.

For MM105, or when updating an O-MM105-HR using an MMR-40 or MMA-1-HTML:

  1. With the source unit turned ON, press and hold SETTINGS to access the System Settings: Main Menu.

  2. Select Diagnostic.

  3. Within the Diagnostic menu, select Enter SW Update Mode.


  4. A prompt to proceed with the update will appear, make sure the USB thumb drive with the proper file is connected at this time. Select Yes to proceed.


  5. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the update, the total update time may take up to 10 minutes. 

When updating an O-MM105-HR without a connected MMR-40 or MMA-1-HTML:

  1. With vessel power OFF, or with the power plug disconnected, connect the USB thumb drive to USB1 or USB2.

  2. Reconnect the power plug, power the unit ON.

  3. The green LED on the O-MM105-HR will blink to indicate the update sequence has begun, DO NOT REMOVE POWER.

  4. The LED will turn solid green when the update is complete.

  5. Remove the USB thumb drive from the O-MM105-HR.
